cinema time oooo yaaa

On tuesday the 10th of march we went to see the movie 'Selma'. firstly we got our food and ohmygod just a warning dont order a large drink or popcorn... Selma was directed by Ava DuVernay.
  1. Although the Civil Rights Act of 1964 legally desegregated the South, discrimination was still rampant in certain areas, making it very difficult for blacks to register to vote. In 1965, an Alabama city became the battleground in the fight for suffrage. Despite violent opposition, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.and his followers pressed forward on an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, and their efforts culminated in President Lyndon Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
I really enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to anyone!

work experience

For this work experience i am working at Castlewarden Pony And Country Club. I am Really enjoying this work experience. I prefer it over my last one which was in an office. My start time is  half nine in the morning until 6:00pm I get an Hour and a half break though which really breaks it up and makes the day fly by. In the morning i muck out the stables and bring the horses in and out of the arena.                                                                                 Then i have to exercise the horses, i either take them out on a hack or i ride them in the arena. After exercising two horses i have my lunch then i exercise another two ride my own horse after. I then mix feed and give it to all the horses and its Six already. Time does really fly by.                                                                                                                                                                                       I will be sad to finish this placement but i am looking forward to starting my next one in St.Bridgets primary school

Drama:)))

On Tuesday all Tys went to the Arts center in Mullingar for a drama competition. We have been preparing our drama for this competition for the past few months. When we were told we were going everyone had one question.. 'is there a mcDonalds there?' yes there was thank godd.

Our school was the first one on and my group was on second- which i was happy with because we had it done and over with it and had more time to get mcdonalds:)) Personally i think we did the best performance we have done so far. we really put in a lot of work and i think it paid off.

the Mullinagar art centre
All the performances were really strong from our school. I think a few of us will be heading to the final in cork.

After my performance we strolled down the village of mullingar and got ourselfs a well rewarded mcDonalds, Its never tasted so good.

We went back to the arts center after our mcdonalds- just in time for the longest play everrrrr... still havent figured out what it was supposed to be about.. And fourtunatly we saw two extremely hilarious plays.. one was funny mainly because one of the actors forgot almost all of his lines.. poor guy,.,.
All in all it was a very enjoyable experience.

holly day collection for the ispcc

Click for OptionsClick for Options
In December all transition year students went into town to collect money for the ispcc. We had to sell holly pins and badges to fund raise for the ispcc. It was so cold everyone was well wrapped up, but everyone was still freeezingg. We arrived at the ispcc building and collected our bibs and our pins and badges. we were assigned places to go. Hannah and i got spar on merrion square road. after about an hour of selling a homeless lady asked us to move because it was her spot... we didnt want to get in trouble so we walked on down the road where we continued to sell.

The water charges protests were also happening in town so we were stuck right in the center of it. There were people everywhere screaming 'go away we wont pay'. It took us a while to get everyone on the bus and back home. I think everyone had fun joining in the water charges protest.
