Best moments of TY

Transition year was a very busy year filled with so many activities. We are all so lucky to be given the oppurtunity to do all of these.
My favorite moment in ty so far was lollipop day in town. I really enjoyed that day because not only were we collecting for a very worthy cause, also everyone had a great day.
I've had many other great moments in ty including coming second in the north side league after a very intense match which went to extra time and penalties

We also got the opportunity to go to Carlingford. We did a lot of different activities there inc. laser tag canoeing and obstacle courses. It was a chance to get to know people who you might not have gotten the chance to talk to before because we were in different classes.



On Wednesday we went to the national aquatic centre to do swim a mile with a smile (http://swimamile.webnode.com/). we left school at ten past nine arrived at the nac and we got in our groups to swim. The first mile i did was in a group of 6 which is rougly 11 lengths each but since we were finished that mile so early four of us decided to go for another mile which was another 16+ lengths. It was a great day out for such a good cause.

Driving

On Monday we got the chance to go to the leinster School of driving. Everyone was excited to drive. some people had driven before so they weren't nervous. when we arrived we were given a quick brief, we then had to get into groups and pick a car. I was in a group with Aimme and Eve. we all got about half an hour to drive. After our driving we had a theory test and my group passed first time then it went downhill after that..
                                                         He then showed us road signs and we had to come up with the
                                                         funniest answer. our group won a point from this
                                                       
                                                    It was a great day over all and to finish it off we had to put on drunk
                                                    goggles to show how drink or drugs affect your driving.

On tuesday the 10th of march we went to see the movie 'Selma'. firstly we got our food and ohmygod just a warning dont order a large drink or popcorn... Selma was directed by Ava DuVernay.

In 1965, an Alabama city became the battleground in the fight for suffrage. Despite violent opposition, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.and his followers pressed forward on an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, and their efforts culminated in President Lyndon Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

I really enjoyed the movie and would recommend it to anyone!

On Friday the 27th of Feb we went into to town to raise money for oesophageal cancer.

We left the school at nine and were in town by ten. We went straight to powerscourt shopping centre to get our hats, t-shirts and most importantly the lollie pops! 

St wolstans were told to sell on grafton street and georges street. Hannah and i decided to go to grafton street. During the first half hour we sold nothing!- we decided to move up towards stephans green were we met pia, jane and meadhbh:)) after selling a good few candles we went for lunch in mcdonalds which was well needed:))

After our lunch we went back to stephans green and sold loadss more until it was time to go home:(( it was such a good day for such a good cause!

pancake day:))))))

On Monday ms leonard came into us with great news- We were going to be hosting a 'pancake party' in aid of the national children's hospital in Tallaght. 

 We decided to have it today on friday the 13th oooOOOoo..

Luckily it went very well the only bad luck we had was that we ran out of pancakes fifteen minutes in:(( 

It was a very successful day raising a total of €274 which we are very proud off

We also ran out of nutella:(((
